“A personal music server
for everyone”

Running Sockso

When you have Sockso on your computer, the first thing you're going to want to do is run it. And that's pretty easy! First, navigate to the Sockso folder you unzipped, and then...

Windows

If you're using Windows then you'll see a file called "Run Sockso", just double-click it and Sockso will fire right up!

Mac

On Mac's, all you need to do is drag the Sockso application to wherever you want to keep it, then double click to launch it!

Linux (and others)

If you're using linux or something else then you have a few options. You may just be able to double click the "sockso.jar" file, or the "linux.sh" script and it'll start. If this doesn't work just open a terminal, change to the sockso directory then execute the following command...

$> sh linux.sh

Up and running!

Sockso should have started up now and you'll be presented with the GUI collection manager. Next, you'll want to learn how to use it!

If you love using Sockso and would like to give a little back, try a donation to help out and support open source development.
